It’s a Knockout: The Hen’s Party

Yet another reason I wish Australia was closer to the UK. It’s a Knockout was one of my favourite TV shows when I was 5 and I love the idea of playing the game with a group of your besties.

All I ask is that you please not ask how I found out about this. It’s embarrassing.

Japanese food iPhone cases

We’ve shown you some weird and not-so-weird iPhone cases and covers here on That’s Noice before, but I think these ones make me feel ill:

Bento box, anyone?

How about something that looks like a hash brown?

I think it’s the bacon and egg that’s really got my stomach churning:

Ant drinks from a rain drop. Cute++

Nothing you can buy this week from me, but it still fits into the category of ‘Noice‘. In the following video an immensely cute ant doesn’t realise what he’s getting himself into while drinking a raindrop.

Praise be to the surface tension of water!

Ninjabread men

I love Fred products, they are so much fun, and really appeal to my sense of humour.

Another new product from Fred, ninjabread men *giggle*

Shame it takes a few months for the products to turn up here in Australia, I wouldn’t mind some Nomskulls too.

Pretty in Pink

On the weekend I found a Pretty in Pink stall and bought one of their handbags – it’s fabulous!!

They have so many brilliant things for sale (including the clothes, but only available in teeny-tiny sizes), I bought perfume, lip balm, soap… mmmm, so much noice stuff! It’s a bit exxy, so be careful.

There’s an actual storefront in Newtown, but you can also shop online.

Sway stools are way cool

They’re expensive, though (US$140). And, once again, don’t ship to Australia.

But we can dream, right?

Robot learns to iron

I want this robot once it’s learned to do this better than me (which shouldn’t take too long)

The Wine Rack: also a sports bra

Just quietly, I don’t think I’d get much running done if I wore this thing:

US$28.75 + US$35.49 shipping (!!!) to Australia = US$64.24. Hmm, sadly not really worth the price unless it’s for a REALLY spesh occasion…

Log & Squirrel Self Watering Planter

Shortly after Jarod moved in with me, we went out and bought some indoor plants. We thought it was a good idea at the time, but after owning these plants for a month, mine were dead (or almost there) and Jarod’s were thriving.

Maybe if my plants had been sitting in these pots, I wouldn’t be constantly reminded of my inability to keep them alive.

It’s pretty simple: pour water into the ‘log’, and glance at the squirrel every other day to see how he’s going. Can barely see him any more? Add more water. He’s still clearly visible? Leave the plant alone. Sure, it might look nicer if the squirrel wasn’t bright orange, but I’ll take all the help I can get: orange or not.

Available from Perpetual Kid – who sadly do not ship internationally.

Ingenious Microfiber Cleaning Slippers

Have you ever thought ‘I wish I could clean my floor while I walk in my slippers?’  Nah, me either.  But I’ll bet that was the train of though that lead to the Slipper Genie Floor Cleaning Slippers.

Made with chenille soles which can be removed for easy cleaning, the slippers also feature pretty bows on top.  Not quite my cup of tea, but I’m sure they’ll appeal to someone.  And maybe that someone is you!

Interestingly, the Sur la Table website they’re featured on only mentions they fit women’s sizes 6-9.  Sexist comments aside, they’ll cost $12.95 plus shipping.

Who else still misses David Tennant as The Doctor?

Yes, Matt Smith makes a great Doctor for the next generation.

But he’s not Tennant. Sniff.

Leigh found this pattern for me on the weekend, and I’m madly practicing my technique so I can make a brilliant Tennant-Doctor to keep me warm at night.

I can’t wake up next to the real David Tennant, but this’ll do nicely thankyouverymuch!

Noice-ities: YouTube-age

Okay people, there have been some great finds on YouTube this week.

But what’s been YOUR favourite??

Has it been that double rainbow guy? Or the earworm song remix version of him?

Personally, my fave has been the Old Spice ads. Featuring Mr Isaiah Mustafa:

Can’t talk; swooning! ;)

Seedling: creative gifts for kids.

I’m not very good with kids (in general). But especially so when it comes to present giving. Despite having been a kid once (so I’m told) I have no idea what they are into at certain ages, nor what is ‘right’ for a girl or a boy. All I remember is that when I was a kid I liked books and cats. Not much to go on there.

But this week I came across Seedling. Seedling is a New Zealand company that started in 2006 when they couldn’t find meaningful and inspiring gifts for children. They now have over 50 products in their range and are stocked in four countries – including Australia, of course.

Their lovingly assembled kits are full of exciting things. So exciting, that even I want to use them.

How about this Erupting Volcano kit?

Or this Create Your Own Sock Toy kit? Or why not Invent Your Own Board Game?

Now I’ve got kids presents sorted, I’m ready for Christmas. Or perhaps I could just ask for a kit or two for myself? Hmm.
