Isaiah Mustafa (Old Spice Guy) Coming to Australia
Shame it is for something as boring as promoting the upcoming launch of Windows Phone 7.

Super cute new Purina ONE tv ad, shot in NZ by an award-winning kiwi film company, starring the cutest kiwi cats, plus a soundtrack by top muso Don McGlashan who resurrected an old French nursery rhyme specifically for this commercial.
I think my cats would pass out at the excitement of it all. And Alex may drop dead after eating it all…he’s not to bright poor boy.
A couple of weeks ago I headed to Brasserie Bread to take part in their Baking with Brioche workshop. Why did I go? Well, it all came down to one single tweet: something about sticky cinnamon buns. Yep, that’s all it takes to get me to sign up for a 3 hour, $130 course.
In my rush to get there on Thursday night I completely forgot to take my camera, but luckily my shiny new phone is capable of taking photos. (Oh, technology these days!).
First up, we used some pre-prepared dough to create a collection of nommy items (including the sticky cinnamon buns, not pictured). Here they are pre resting and baking.
Our ‘nommy items’ also included our dinner: a salmon coulibiac (a Russian fish pie typically made with salmon or sturgeon, hard-boiled eggs, mushrooms and dill, baked in a pastry shell.) Of course, the salmon was wrapped in brioche, continuing the theme of the workshop.
It was, without even the slightest bit of exaggeration, the best salmon-based meal I’ve ever had. And, yes, I had already starting eating my meal before I took photos of it. I’d never make it as a food blogger.
Once dinner was over we went back into the kitchen to make our own dough from scratch. At this point you get to see exactly how much butter goes into brioche. And it’s, um, a lot. In between working the dough, we take a short tour of the bakery, and watch our creations get put into a massive oven for baking.
Exciting, no? Well, you’ll have to trust me that it is. Just a little bit.
At the end of the three hours we get to go home with not only the skills we’ve picked up, but also days worth of brioche for the eating.
Plus a little recipe hand out the includes the recipe for the Sticky Cinnamon Buns. What more could you ask for?
Brasserie Bread hold a range of baking workshops at their cafe in Banksmeadow, NSW. You can find out more information on their website.
Fresh, delicious pineapple…MMMmmmm makes your mouth water just thinking about it! None of that that crap from a can stuff. Up until only a few years ago I didn’t realise there was THAT much of a difference in taste. If you have not tried fresh pineapple you are seriously missing out in life.
Pineapple is one of my fav fruits, love eating and drinking it. Hot or cold…I know there are a lot of people out there who can’t stand the thought of pineapple on pizza etc, I can’t think of anything better.
Food blogger I most certainly am not, but when the guys at King of Fruit Pineapples recently asked if I wanted to have a crack at cooking some stuff with their pineapples..I thought why not.
Anyway..on to my pineappley creations..something basic for those culinarily challenged folk like me.
First off was a super delicious fruit salad…can mess that up…and super yum!
Next was chicken and pineapple skewers on the BBQ, again, not rocket surgery but delish none the less.
And lastly, something a little more daring (but shhh I cheated and used crepes from a box) Ham, pineapple and cheese crepes. Think this was my fav, other than just nomming it fresh cut on it’s own.

Congrats to Rah and Dan on their big day yesterday! Our beautiful Rah…all growed up and getting married! She looked absolutely stunning, and Dan scrubbed up pretty noice too.
Our wonderfully talent Jarod & Liz were the photographers, so I can’t wait to see the rest of the pics from the day. If this little sample is anything to go by..they will be awesome!
Rah & Dan are off on their honeymoons (yes, in true Rah style..they are having 2) for the next few weeks. We hope they have an amazing time, and look forward to hearing all about noiceness when they return.
I love stationery, especially cards. I try to buy them in advance with specific people in mind so I can be prepared for repeating occasions that I should remember – like birthdays. In reality, I end up with a bunch of really cool cards that I will sometimes remember to send out.
Today I came across Belles & Whiselles and their fantastic range of cards, invitations and other paper based objects – including these awesome growth charts.

You don’t just get to mark how tall you are – you can colour it in!
Then of course is their range of blank greeting cards.
Best of all they’re two designers based in Sydney, Australia using quality Australian materials to make their cards by hand. What more could you ask for?
This is a prime example of a product being perfectly normal until the out of context Internet gets a hold of it. Originally created in a neutral skin colour ‘Foot Thongs’ allowed ballet dances to be able to spin on the balls of their feet easier. Now the humble Foot Thong has been reinvented as a fashion item called FootUndeez.
Made to look like underwear for your feet, FootUndeez are nothing short of strange.
What’s that? You like the idea of foot underwear but would prefer them to make more of a bold statement? Perhaps the creators could do this using bright pink or leopard print material. Oh wait. They already have…
FootUndeez are available for purchase here with prices starting from £10.95.
Because I am a Girl is Plan’s global campaign designed to fight gender inequality, promote girls’ rights and lift millions of girls out of poverty by raising awareness to the many serious issues faced by girls. Across the globe, girls are at the bottom of the social ladder, deprived of the same opportunities as boys. Research has shown that girls are more likely to suffer from malnutrition; be forced into an early marriage; be subjected to violence or intimidation; be trafficked, sold or coerced into the sex trade; or become infected with HIV.
What can you do to help raise awareness…
This has to be THE best cookbook..EVER. Hardly surprising coming from Ikea though right? Not sure when, or if this will ever available in Australia..I hope so!
The Swedish cookbook Hembakat är Bäst which means homemade is best, is a collection of 30 recipes all with this wonderful styling.
The styling of the ingredients is just mind blowingly beautiful, like no other cookbook I’ve ever seen…I love it!

I don’t know about you, but the thought of having to use my printer fills me with dread..I try to avoid it as much as possible. It never seems to be a quick and painless task like it should be, trying to find the cords or getting the right driver installed and working just to get the damn thing to print one page..it’s enough to make you stabby!
But all that could be a thing of the past with these new HP Photosmart Wireless e-All-in-One printers! Every HP web-connected printer will have a unique email address that will allow you to deliver and print the same way you send an email message. With the e-All-in-One you can print lab quality photos and every day documents from any device, any where.
So perhaps you are at work, while the husband and children are at home. Forgot to leave them a list of chores to do..or maybe a shopping list? Not to worry, you can email your lists directly to your printer at home..so there are no excuses for the chores and shopping not to be done ;)!
Or share that perfect holiday snap for an instant postcard by emailing to family and friends. No need for your printer to be hooked up to your PC, if you can email..you can print. Even from your mobile phone.
Another nifty feature of the HP Photosmart Wireless e-All-in-One is printer apps. Apps allow you to access a range of pre formatted print content direct from your printer screen..no computer require. Choose from a large range of apps to quickly and easily print forms, colouring pages, personalised calendars and more.
These things are pretty stylish too, nice black finish, with a contemporary design on the lid. It will look great in any home office.
The HP Photosmart Wireless e-All-in-One printers are available now for $129AUD.
The only issue you may have, is traumatising the cats at home when you are printing remotely…
Now that we actually have a dining table, a set of these salt and pepper shakers would be doubly awesome.
The charming tumbler is a beautiful sight with his heavy, elegant body and large, slim wheels and when Boogie Woogie starts to move, dance and roll, he will make everybody smile.
I might end up spending all of dinner time pushing the salt and pepper shakers around the table, but that’s not the point. Totally entertaining.
You can buy the set from Amazon.
I reckon if there’s one thing that could get me to use a push bike regularly, this’d be it:
According to the designer:
‘horsey’ is an attachable bicycle ornament/accessory which makes one’s bicycle look horsey! the ‘horsey’ package includes wooden ornaments (horsey shape body), metal parts, and screws.
the manual is very simple so that anyone can easily arrange it according to one’s needs. through this ‘horsey’ project.
I wanted to give a special look to bicycles so that people would care about cycling not only as transportation but also as a lovely pet.
The best idea to make a bike more appealing, ever.
Spring is certainly in the air, don’t know about other parts of the country, but the weather in Sydney the last few days has just been divine…bring on the warms!!
Not sure what it is, but I just love this ad. I thought it was for beer at first..

With spring already underway, Australian women are being asked to spring into action and take charge of their health with the launch of Australia’s first iPhone application to help women of all ages become more breast aware.
The first of its kind in Australia, Dr K’s Breast Checker will help prompt women to conduct regular self-breast checks with its unique interactive tools helping identify any changes in their breasts, as well as automated reminders for monthly breast checks. The application also provides important information on what to do if a change is found.
Developed in consultation with breast health specialists from the Breast Cancer Institute as well as leading breast cancer support charities, the McGrath Foundation and the Breast Cancer Foundation of Western Australia, Dr K’s Breast Checker is the latest tool to help women to take control of their health and become breast aware.
Dr Kath Giles, a Perth-based doctor otherwise known as Dr K, came up with the concept for the iPhone application after realising there was a need to reach people more broadly with the breast awareness message in a way in which they feel comfortable.
“With the busy lives that we lead today, it’s easy to forget what you felt or saw the last time you checked your breasts. It’s also well-known that early detection of breast changes gives women the best opportunity for successful treatment if the changes are related to breast cancer.
“Over 1.5 million iPhone, iPod Touch and iPads are currently being used in Australia1 and with an iPhone application for just about everything, I saw an opportunity to help educate women on how to be more breast aware by developing an application with an interactive guide on how to do their breast check, as well as a mechanism that helps track changes found from previous breast checks, advising them to see their GP if they find a change. It also serves as an automatic reminder for these women to do their monthly breast checks, getting them into a positive health routine.
Dr K’s Breast Checker iPhone application is available for download from iTunes for $2.49, with 55c from the sale of each application shared between the McGrath Foundation and the Breast Cancer Foundation of Western Australia.
Visit iTunes at www.apple.com/au/itunes and search Dr K. Alternatively, visit www.mcgrathfoundation.com.au or www.breastcancer.org.au and click the Dr K’s Breast Checker icon to be redirected to the purchase point.
I love jelly, especially in summer (with some vodka perhaps? :P)
Spotted this idea and just love it, looking forward to trying it. Think it would look awesome in a giant cupcake mould maybe.
Watch the how to video.
If you own a Wii console and are obsessed with Doctor Who, I’d say this product was tailor made for you.
It has been created by the BBC and Blue Ocean to tie in with a game that is being released on the Wii… Doctor Who: Return To Earth.
If I still owned a Wii, I’d definitely be in the market for a glowing Sonic Screwdriver Wiimote. Not only would it function as a Wii controller, but it’d likely fix dripping taps and unlock the front door when I’ve locked myself out*. The Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver Wiimote will be available when the game is released, which is slated for the Australian summer.
* It probably wouldn’t do either of those things. Oh to have a proper Sonic Screwdriver.
To celebrate the release of 2 new chocolate varities from Cadbury..Bar of Plenty Berry Fruit & Vanilla Shortcake and Roast Hazelnut & Honey Roast Cashews. You have the chance to score yourself $50 worth of Cadbury Chocolate…..NOICE!
