Grab your mixing bowl, dust off your chef’s hat and get ready to bake up a storm for the RSPCA because Monday 16 August 2010 is Cupcake Day.
Last year 350,000 cupcakes were baked around the country and this year the RSPCA is hoping that even more people take part in this yummy fundraiser.
Getting involved in Cupcake Day is deliciously easy. Head to www.rspcacupcakeday.com.au – its’ free to register and there are loads of great recipes, tips and party ideas, or download ‘The Ultimate Cupcake Day Guide’ for the best Cupcake Day ever!
Last year $1.1 million was raised across Australia and this year the RSPCA is hoping to raise $2.5 million but they need your assistance. “Every year the RSPCA cares for over 155,000 animals and as we receive less than 2% of in government funding, we rely on the community to continue,” said RSPCA NSW CEO Steve Coleman.
To help the RSPCA continue their fight against animal cruelty please Choose Wisely and bake cupcakes only using eggs from RSPCA Approved or cage-free farming systems. This way you’re raising much-needed funds for the RSPCA and helping to get hens out of cages too! And the cherry on top is that for every $100 raised online you’ll receive an entry into the draw to win two Kymco Scooters (valued over $7,500).
Help the RSPCA make Monday 16 August 2010 the sweetest day of the year. If you can’t be involved on this date, you can still hold your Cupcake Day Party at any time during the month of August 2010.
Register now at www.rspcacupcakeday.com.au and help the RSPCA continue their fight against animal cruelty.

I was a Ben & Jerry’s virgin..*gasp* yes..it is true. Living all the way out here (Western Sydney) we don’t get all those special goodies. While I must admit I am not a huge ice cream fan..boring old vanilla for me, when I was given the chance to try out some of the new pint flavours last week, I was a little excited.
We have featured a few of these in the past on That’s Noice. But the folks at Holycool have put together a list of some really awesome cake molds. Cakes need not be round and boring when you have these cake pans.
I think it’s safe to say we are very much team cat here at That’s Noice. Sure, dogs are great too..but nothing beats a kitteh..or 5.
But I think our feline family can be a little left out when it comes to shopping, especially in Australia. So many sites and products for dogs…what about the cats!
I recently came across Pampered Cats Playground and immediately placed an order. They have a great range of everything you need for your cats, but my favourite section was the toys.
2 toys the meezers and I thoroughly recommend is the….
Da Bird, This is the best cat toy EVER (well, apart from bugs and carboard boxes) It is a feather attachment on the end of a long stick that you wave about. Doesn’t sounds too exciting, does it? But when you move the feathers, they spin and ‘fly’ looking and sounding a bit like a real bird. We have had quite a few of these over the years. If you aren’t careful in hiding it, they will find it and trash it. I have had trouble finding them, due to the issues with feathers and Customs. Great price at $14, plus you can buy a bunch of different attachments for $5.
Dr Noys Swizzle Stick Another thing on a stick that induces aerial acrobatics, and sometimes some growling.
So check out Pampered Cats Playground(look past the site design) a great Aussie site for cat goodies, service was super friendly and fast.
[Update] A big thank you to everyone who applied for our writers spots here on That’s Noice! We were a bit overwhelmed with the huge response that we’ve had. Unfortunately, we could only pick 2 writers, and the spots have been filled. We hope you enjoy our new writers who will be starting in a few weeks!
We’re expanding the That’s Noice team and we’re looking for a writer or two to join us. If you enjoy blogging and cool stuff we’d love to hear from you.
We’re looking for someone who can commit to 1-2 posts a week . Posts can be on anything you like really: food and recipes, fashion, homewares, crafty stuff… if you think it’s noice, we want to read about it.
Unfortunately, this isn’t a paid gig, but you will be able to add your bio to all of your posts with links to your site/s (That’s Noice currently receives over 10,500 unique visitors a month). You will also be able to add your own Adsense (or similar) ads to your archived posts. From time to time there may be products for sampling or review.
So if it sounds like something you’d be interested in, just drop us an email with some details about yourself and your current blogs.
We wrote about the Keepcup reusable coffee cups last year (I have actually just ordered some myself) but came across the BYO reusable coffee cuprecently, and it looks really cool as well.
Did you know that most take away coffee cups are not recyclable and that Australians discard into landfill 1.36 million disposable cups a day. This is a phenomenal amount, imagine this figure globally!
So we all really need to do our part, and so no to the take away coffee cups by going reusable. It’s great to see Aussie companies coming out with great alternatives.
The BYO reusable coffee cup is another great Aussie product doing their bit to help us reduce coffee cups in landfills.
Made from silicone which is flexible but firm, it can withstand up to 200ºC heat but will remain cool to touch. You can use it for tea, coffee, soup..what ever…. Use it. Wash it. Use it over and over again.
They are available in a few different colour combos and come in 10oz ($10.95) and 15oz ($15.95)
