Super cute new Purina ONE tv ad, shot in NZ by an award-winning kiwi film company, starring the cutest kiwi cats, plus a soundtrack by top muso Don McGlashan who resurrected an old French nursery rhyme specifically for this commercial.
I think my cats would pass out at the excitement of it all. And Alex may drop dead after eating it all…he’s not to bright poor boy.
Fresh, delicious pineapple…MMMmmmm makes your mouth water just thinking about it! None of that that crap from a can stuff. Up until only a few years ago I didn’t realise there was THAT much of a difference in taste. If you have not tried fresh pineapple you are seriously missing out in life.
Pineapple is one of my fav fruits, love eating and drinking it. Hot or cold…I know there are a lot of people out there who can’t stand the thought of pineapple on pizza etc, I can’t think of anything better.
Food blogger I most certainly am not, but when the guys at King of Fruit Pineapples recently asked if I wanted to have a crack at cooking some stuff with their pineapples..I thought why not.
Anyway..on to my pineappley creations..something basic for those culinarily challenged folk like me.
First off was a super delicious fruit salad…can mess that up…and super yum!
Next was chicken and pineapple skewers on the BBQ, again, not rocket surgery but delish none the less.
And lastly, something a little more daring (but shhh I cheated and used crepes from a box) Ham, pineapple and cheese crepes. Think this was my fav, other than just nomming it fresh cut on it’s own.

Congrats to Rah and Dan on their big day yesterday! Our beautiful Rah…all growed up and getting married! She looked absolutely stunning, and Dan scrubbed up pretty noice too.
Our wonderfully talent Jarod & Liz were the photographers, so I can’t wait to see the rest of the pics from the day. If this little sample is anything to go by..they will be awesome!
Rah & Dan are off on their honeymoons (yes, in true Rah style..they are having 2) for the next few weeks. We hope they have an amazing time, and look forward to hearing all about noiceness when they return.
This has to be THE best cookbook..EVER. Hardly surprising coming from Ikea though right? Not sure when, or if this will ever available in Australia..I hope so!
The Swedish cookbook Hembakat är Bäst which means homemade is best, is a collection of 30 recipes all with this wonderful styling.
The styling of the ingredients is just mind blowingly beautiful, like no other cookbook I’ve ever seen…I love it!

We have been back on the health kick at our place recently. Trying to find yummy stuff to nibble on during the day can be a challenge. I don’t mind normal rice cakes, though they aren’t too great on their own.
Spotted these in woolies the other week, and thought i’d give them a try.
Sunrice caramel rice cakes. O…MG. They are SO f’ing awesome! I have everyone at home and at work hooked on them. They taste a lot like lolly gobble bliss bombs, with a hell of a lot less calories.
They also come in Apple and cinnamon (which I HATED) and Honey, but I haven’t been able to find these in the shops yet.
Think we have all seen the giant kitteh couch that has been doing the rounds this week. But there have been little detail about the what, why and where of this furry giant
The couch is part of the Unfold art installation in Belgium, 8 artists are taking over an old apartment block.
Also part of this installation, in the bathroom there is a small video projection of a cat drinking from the dripping tap.

But now that we have a new babeh in the house I have been spending a little too much time (and OMG let’s not talk about the $$$) shopping for doggie stuff.
Candbury have just released a new chocolate that will have creme egg fans cheering. Twisted is a creme egg, in bar form that you can enjoy all year round..not just at easter.
Tastes just like a creme egg, although the chocolate is a little too thick for me. But they are much easier to eat than the regular egg.
Nom!
Mcdonald’s hotcakes…Mmmmm pancakes *insert drooling*
Ever wanted to recreate them at home? Well now you can!
I finally got around to trying this recipe on the weekend, it was very similar to my regular recipe..but some tweaking..and adding vanilla O M G they totes taste just like McDonald’s hotcakes!

But..onto the pancakes..
What you’ll need….
2 cups plain flour
2 tb caster sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp bicarb soda
1 tsp salt
600ml buttermilk (i.e. one carton)
80g butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggsMethod:
Put your buttermilk into your bowl. Then add your sifted dry ingredients and melt the butter. Beat with an electric mixer until the mix is fluffy.Please don’t tell me you need guided instructions on how to actually cook them?
I doubled the recipe, cause my lot are pancake pigs. Serve with butter and maple syrup, although my fave pancake topping is dulche de leche (or Top N Fill)

Lets face it, snuggies have to be one of THE most unstylish fashion items even invented.
Well, those crazy folks from Iceland have their own snuggie, the seal pelt that seems to be a little more funky..if your into seals anyway. Though they look a bit more like penguins to me?
Might be a bit more $$ than the infommercial snuggie, from what I can work out on the site they are about $270AU. But I reckon these look perfect to stuff a kitteh or 3 in for a snuggle and some TV.
