Cupcake Sausage – Cupcakewurst

Recently discovered the Cupcake Project. I love a bit of whacky baking, I have been known to make rainbow coloured mash, potato meat cupcakes etc.

But I think their latest creation takes the cake (so lame I know :p) I LOVE the idea.

Cupcake sausages, or cupcakewurst as they called it. Yes, that is really cake INSIDE a sausage case.

Noice, or not noice?

Check out how you can make your own, I know you want to!

Soy Melts Good Enough To Eat

Our whole family is in love with these delish soy melts tarts from Veeanca.

I’m a bit of a smell junkie, I have a very heightened sense of smell.  My candle habit was getting a little expensive. With so many dogs and cats running, about regular candle oil burners were just too impractical. So I can across some lovely electric oil burners on eBay and went in search of some yummy scents to fill it with.

Came across Veeanca‘s store on etsy and she has a fabulous range, and they smell A-MAZ-ING. I have ordered 3-4 times now, trying out all the flavours. Our favs have been the Coffee, Musk Stick, Vanilla Chessecake and Orange and Vanilla.

What’s even better is that she is Sydney based, so I can often get my things the next day if I order early enough. Awesome service!

Check out Veeanca on etsy. Soy melts are only $2 a tub.

Oscar’s Law – Help Stop the Sale of Animals in Pet Shops

Puppy factories are the cruel hidden industry behind the pet shop window and glossy internet sites. The reality is mother dogs are kept confined and pregnant their entire lives to meet the unceasing demand of the pet industry. When their reproductive life is over, they are killed and replaced. These dogs spend their entire lives confined in dirt pens, in tin sheds or in raised wire cages with little or no veterinary care, they are simply treated as breeding machines. Their life when they hit the petshop isn’t much better.

Please help spread the word and boycott this brutal business. Don’t be an unsuspecting link in the supply chain of cruelty.

The lead-up to Christmas is a critical time for puppy farmers who rely on impulse purchasing at pet shops in order to profit. We can stop the puppy trade by not buying puppies from pet shops and showing others why they should do the same.

Oscar’s Law aims to change the way our pets are kept, bred and sold.

  • Abolish the factory farming of all companion animals.
  • Ban the sale of factory farmed companion animals from pet shops and online trading sites.
  • Promote adoption through rescue groups/pounds/shelters.

Watch and share this video to help educate others why we should not be buying any animals from pet shops.

What can you do to help?

  • Don’t buy anything from businesses that exploit these poor animals, especially puppies and kittens.
  • Help educate family and friends why is it is not OK for puppies and kittens to be sold in pet shops.
  • Sign the online petition
  • Join Oscar’s Law on Facebook and become proactive!
  • Email the Premier, the Leader of the Opposition and Minister of Agriculture in your State, you can also email Julia Gillard and Tony Abbott. The website makes it easy, they have the letter for you,  just add your details and hit send!

Lighten the load this Christmas

Redkite is an Australian not-for-profit charity and they have asked that we all give a Gift-in-Kind this Christmas and lighten the load for families affected by childhood cancer. A gift of $75 can connect parents across Australia to vital counselling support over Christmas, no matter where they live.

Do you have people in your life who already have everything? This is the perfect practical gift to give to those very people — they can then start the new year feeling warm and fuzzy in the knowledge that they’ve helped a family who’s doing it tough.

It’s hard to think about sick kids at Christmas, but they’re out there. Imagine the  joy you could give these littlies and their families.

Redkite provides a range of services that help support families caring for young kids with cancer. This Christmas, over 8,000 families on the cancer journey will feel weighed down emotionally and financially. These gifts can lighten that load:

  • A gift of $55 can pay for a child’s mobile phone bills so they can stay in touch with their family this holiday season.
  • $75 can connect parents across Australia to vital counselling support no matter where they live.
  • Donating $120 can help a child manage the stress of gruelling treatment by funding a Redkite music therapy session.
  • Giving $800 can help a bereaved parent talk with others who are grieving in a Redkite telephone support group.

To donate, please visit www.redkite.org.au or call 1800 334 771.

Molly Mutt Pet Beds

Having 2 insideish dogs, we have been through our fair share of dog beds.

Most have been eaten, or peed on and ruined. I came across Molly Mutt beds about 12mths ago, and they are the perfect pet bed!

The best part of these beds is in the stuffing. Regular pet beds can be near impossible to wash. But the molly mutt bed is just stuffed with your old clothes and blankets, washing the insides is just as easy as washing the cover.

I wash mine at least once a week, and it still looks great. I have just bought a second cover, so we can rotate them so the robots last a bit longer ;) To make it even easier to keep clean, they have recently released a water proof cover to go under the regular cover. Perfect if you have a peer like me.

Molly Mutt beds come in a range of funky fabrics as well as different shapes and sizes. So there is a perfect bed for all the furry family.

Alcoholic Peanut Butter Cups?

NutLiquor is a peanut butter-flavoured vodka that is supposed to taste like the centre of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

Not so keen on the idea of bacon-flavoured vodka, but this? Mmmmm.

Excuse me while I think about the sugar rush mixed with hard liquor.

YES PLEASE!

Dropp Bowl

I’ve never owned a fruit bowl before, but I could be convinced by one of these…

The Menu Dropp! bowl is an innovative take on a classic design. This bowl is designed to either hold food for the dining table, hold fruit or simply just for decoration.

The strong design element makes this an ideal piece for any home, and is based around a splash of paint that has been frozen in time.

The bowl has a shiny inside and a matt outside, and is available in an array of exciting colours

AU$92 from top3 by design.

Find The Cheapest Australian Flights with Adioso

Adioso is an Australian based company helping you find the cheapest flights.

We all know of Flight Centre and Webjet, which are good if you have very specific travel periods you are looking for. If you can be a little more flexible with travel times and are planning your holidays well in advance, I would definitely suggest giving Adioso a spin.

In a very easy to use google like interface, you put in your destination and a travel period, such as mid March. It will then search all the major carriers and give you the prices for all the dates in your travel period and show you the cheapest options. Another great tool is the ability to subscribe to certain dates and time periods and be notified when the price drops.

Some flights I was watching dropped $20 below the “cheapest” price I was originally quoted in just over a week. So it definitely pays to plan ahead and be flexible.

Give it a try when you are next on the look out for cheap flights, Adioso

November 11: Remembrance Day.

This post is a little more ‘heavy’ than you would be used to on That’s Noice!, but we have no doubt you understand the reason why we have decided to post this today.

Today, 11 November 2011 is remembrance day, marking 93 years since the armistice was signed between the Allies of World War I and Germany at Compiègne, France, for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front of World War I.

Don Rowe, NSW State President of the Returned and Services League of Australia, said he hoped that on Remembrance Day this Friday Australians everywhere would follow the tradition of observing a minute’s silence at 11 a.m. to acknowledge the sacrifice of so many lives in so many wars over the past century.

“It only takes a moment for us all to stop what we’re doing, to pause, and to reflect on the lives that have been lost and to honour those whose lives are still at risk in the service of their country,” said Mr Rowe.

You can also show your respect by wearing a red poppy.

At the eleventh hour, on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, I will observe a minute’s silence. Will you?
